Rafting/Canoeing Trip
June 12, 2021 @ 7:30 am – June 13, 2021 @ 12:00 pm
This June we’ll be rafting on the Delaware River going from Pond Eddy to Matamoras. The outfitter’s website says this about the trip.
This section of the river is a whitewater destination with stretches of long quiet pools. It is ideal for rafters of any experience level. Depending on the water level, this section of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River offers Class 1 & 2 rapids. You will hit multiple sets of rapids in this section including Staircase rapids, Mongaup rapids and inlet, Butlers Rift rapids and Mill Rift rapids. You will paddle beneath cliffs and spectacular rock formations, through lush vegetation and the dramatic gorge known as the Hawks Nest and go under 2 bridges on this trip. Paddlers appreciate The Upper Delaware’s beauty, wildlife sightings including bald eagles & osprey and high water quality.
We’ll leave Saturday morning and return early Sunday afternoon. Specific times to be posted shortly.
Cost
The cost of the trip is $80. Please bring payment to the our in-person meeting at Supplee or send a check to our treasurer, Tom Rhodes.
