In the fall, those of us who enjoy hiking load up for a backpacking outing. This year we’ll be on the Appalachian Trail between Caledonia and Pine Grove Furnace State Parks.   Experienced hikers will go about 20 miles, 12 Saturday and 10 more Sunday.  Novice hikers will do a much shorter trek.

Both groups will carry everything they need for the weekend on their backs, eat the same type of food, and camp overnight in the same style.  It’s important to have the proper equipment for this outing.   Check the website to see what you need and tell us no later than September 17 if you need to borrow a backpack from the Troop.

We depart at 7:00 PM Friday, September 28 and return Sunday the 30th.  The $25.00 cost is due at our September 17 meeting.
