March Van Trip

$175This year’s bus trip, on March 24 & 25, will take us to New York City. We’ll stay in a hotel and eat in restaurants. Points of interest include the 9/11 Memorial, the Empire State Building, the Natural History Museum, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. After dinner on Saturday we’ll check into our hotel where we can go for a swim.
UPDATE (from Friday night, 3/23): NO BROWN BAG LUNCH IS NEEDED FOR SUNDAY. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. YOU MUST STILL BRING A LUNCH WITH YOU FOR SATURDAY.

SATURDAY 3/24:
7:00 AM Leave from Church
9:00 AM Arrive at 9/11 Memorial
10:00 AM Leave 9/11 Memorial;
10:30 AM Tour to top of Empire State Building
12:00 PM Leave Empire State Building
12:30 PM Eat Lunch in Central Park
1:00 PM Natural History Museum
5:15 PM Leave Museum
6:30 PM Dinner at Hometown Buffet
8:00 PM Arrive at hotel

9:30 PM PLC meeting; followed by patrol meetings

SUNDAY 3/25:
7:00 AM Breakfast Group 1

8:30 AM Catholic Scouts depart for Mass, interfaith service for all others
10:30 AM Leave Hotel
11:45 AM Lunch at Liberty State Park
1:00 PM Ferry Tour leaves for Ellis Island; Statue of Liberty
4:00 PM Leave Liberty State Park
6:00 PM Arrive at church
WHAT TO WEAR:
Scouts must wear Class B Uniforms both days. These uniforms include Troop tee shirt, Scout pants, Scout belt, Scout socks and clean shoes. Tee shirts are available from Mrs. Gil for $15. You might want an extra.
WHAT TO PACK:
Bring brown bag lunches for both days, since we’ll eat on the bus. Bring a small carry on with Saturday’s lunch and other small items into the bus with you. Sunday’s lunch will go in a cooler. Everything else must fit in a single piece of luggage that will go in the bottom of the bus. You should bring:
* Two brown bag lunches
* Extra Troop tee shirts
* Casual clothes for Saturday night
* A bathing suit
* Pajamas
* Changes of underwear
* Toothbrush & toothpaste
* Spending money: (essential items; meals, admissions, lodging, and transportation, are already paid for)
* A camera (optional).
