Troop 542 Scouts headed to Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania for their annual movie-making camping trip on Friday, November 18, 2022. Due to frigid weather, Scout patrols were assigned to heated cabins with working water and electricity.

On Saturday morning, Scouts participated in different activities, such as basketball, ultimate frisbee, or “raga” –a variation of gaga ball that incorporates some of the rules of football. After preparing lunch, patrols scattered around the campsite to record scenes for their movies, then edit and trim the recorded clips. Each patrol was tasked with creating a film consistent with Scout values to be shown at the December Court of Honor. After six hours of filming, the Troop reconvened at the pavilion to cook dinner. After the meal, Scouts gathered around a campfire to sing new and familiar songs.

The weekend trip concluded on Sunday morning as Scouts cooked breakfast, packed up the campsite, reset the cabins, and reloaded Troop equipment onto the truck for the ride back to Supplee Presbyterian Church.
