Once the weather warms up, Troop 542 returns to tent camping. On Friday, April 22, more than 40 Scouts and leaders headed to Resica Falls Scout Reservation for a weekend of shooting sports. Before doing any shooting, instructors taught Scouts gun and archery safety. After the lesson, the main event of the camping trip began: a troop-wide rifle, shotgun, and bow shooting contest. The competition was fierce, and the stakes were high (at least for the competitors); winners got first choice snacks after dinner! Troop 542 will return to Resica Falls later this year for a week of summer camp.
