Scouts BSA Troop 542 held its December rank advancement and awards ceremony on Monday, December 14 via Zoom. Senior Patrol Leader Andy W opened the proceedings with the investiture of 8 new Scouts. Troop Scribe Sam W followed with the presentation of merit badges achieved by Scouts this fall. Collectively, Troop 542 Scouts earned 32 merit badges, including search and rescue, cooking, personal fitness, first aid, communications, citizen in the world, citizen in the community, engineering, and space exploration. Rank advancements were also awarded, with five members promoted to the rank of Scout, four Scouts to the rank of Tenderfoot, four Scouts to First Class, and three Scouts to Life. It also was announced that Scouts Gabe D and Vicente D have successfully completed the Eagle board of review.
