On January 28, three Scouts from our Troop completed a process–each process unique, each rewarding, and each challenging. This process was the maturing of a young boy into a young man as he journeyed on the trail to Eagle. Each of these young men completed their trek to Eagle. During this process, they encountered many trials including four ranks requiring particular scout skills and three more requiring them to complete merit badges, fulfill service quotas, hold leadership positions for a total of 16 months, and attend a high percentage of scout meetings and trips.
At the Eagle Court of Honor, the Trail to Eagle was depicted by seven of our younger Scouts. The Scouts, who represented the ranks of Boy Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle respectively, each described what he had to do to earn those ranks. Afterward, Troop Committee Chairman presented his famous Trail to Eagle video showing how each of the Eagle candidates had grown, both in strength of character, as well as physically. Speakers for the trio included mentors from families and churches who noted how each Eagle Scout showed Scout Spirit outside of the Troop program.
One of the cadidates noted that it was, “a great night to finally finish my journey to Eagle, and I’m excited to continue my life as an Eagle Scout.” We wish these fine young men a successful future and a long career as Scouters. We are extremely proud of each of them for their years of hard work and this amazing accomplishment!
