We had a great time on our December camping trip in cabins at Camp Rodney in Maryland. When we arrived, we all pitched in to unload our troop gear from our rental truck. Then we all helped each other set up patrol gear and move personal gear into the cabins. We took our time settling in for the night and woke raring and ready to go on Saturday morning. We made a breakfast of champions, also known as pancakes, cleaned up our cooking materials, and then headed out to our camping activities.

Our activities for this trip included competitions in first aid, knot tying, skits, and board games. The Sharks and Ravens as a joint patrol won the first aid competition, the board games competition, the knot tying competition, and the competition for skits. The Shark-Raven joint patrol also built fires together under adult supervision to satisfy some of their advancement requirements. Later we played a troop-wide ice game which the Eagle patrol won. We got lucky on this trip and had the joy of snow to experience, which gave some of us the opportunity to get creative. The Lightning patrol even harnessed their artistic ability by building a snow-Troop Chairman. By end of the trip, everyone was full of laughter and delighted they had gone.
