On September 23rd and 24th, the Boy Scouts of Troop 542 went for a two-day hike on the Appalachian Trail towards Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation. The adventure started with fairly even ground for most of the trail, except for the occasional hill here or there. For lunch, the Scouts were provided with a hearty meal full of protein with some Tuna-fish Salad and other snacks for the rest of the trail. At the end of the first day, the Scouts settled down after their first 12-miles were completed.
The next day, the Scouts woke up bright and early to continue going down the trail after they had oatmeal and hot chocolate for breakfast. The rest of the 8-miles was easier compared to the rest of the trail since it was almost completely flat for the entire time except for the begging mile, where the Scouts were met with an incline. At the end of the weekend, everyone was able to complete the trail with plenty of time left to spare for the rest of the day once they got home.
